Carried unanimously.
After more discussion, Mr. Cardinal moved to authorize Mr. Rosengren to put
chloride on East Rondeau Lake Road in front of the houses. Seconded by Mr.
Jaworski. Carried unanimously.
Mr. Rosengren thought they would probably have time to shape up the driveway
and parking lot for the new building in October. ldr. Gotwald suggested the use
of crushed rock until all construction is finished. There was discussion on
the had spot in 80th. Mr. Rosengren stated that they would get this at the same
time as they do the East County Line.
Mr. Bohjanen reported that the Community & Business Development Commission had
set November 21st as the grand opening date. He questioned the legality of
selling beer in the Village Hall on this occasion. Mr. Locher thought it would
be better to sell it in another building; however, he will check. Mr. Locher
stated that they would need insurance to accompany the beer permit. It was
noted that Lexington sells beer at the Fire Dept. in the municipal building.
1dr. Bohjanen noted that the beer would only be sold during the dance and coffee
during the day; the Civil Defense Auxiliary will handle the refreshments. Mr.
Locher will contact Mr. Bohjanen.
Mr. Bohjanen reported that he had also gotten a quote on a flag pole from Century
Fence. A pole with a 3" base and a 4' x 6' flag would cost $88. The VFW had
offered to donate a 6' x 8' flag; it would still cost $88 for a larger size
pole to handle this flag. Mr. Bohjanen is waiting for other quotes. He asked
that a wire be run to the pole when the other electric service is installed.
There was discussion on whether the lights should be on the pole or on the ground.
Mr. Bohjanen reported that the response had been good on the note sent to business-
men. Enough money had been donated to order the buttons. There will be some
small displays from various businesses; these will be taken down before the
dance. He had written to some 75 businesses or businessmen in the community.
Jtr. Bohjanen reported that he had received a phone call from Mrs. Naomi Zelinka
in response to the letter requesting them to clean up the property at Elm St.
and Lake Drive. The Zelinkas have contacted someone to clean up in the next
week. Mrs. Zelinke had asked that in the future letters be signed by the Mayor
as well as the Clerk. Mayor L'Allier asked the Clerk to note that any further
correspondence to the Zelinkas be signed by the Mayor.
Mr. Bohjanen commented that he had noted the fees in the proposed ordinance on
inflammable liquids and thought that other businesses should be licensed as
well as those included and charged a small fee. Upon discussion of the matter,
Mr. L'Allier appointed Mr. Bohjanen, Mr. Jaworski and Mr. Rosengren to act as
a committee to review the list of license fees in the League booklet and to report
back at the first meeting in November. The Clerk will secure more copies of the
booklet. Mr. Rosengren noted that he will be gone for one month. Mr. L'Allier
stated that if the time were inadequate, the report could be postponed.
Mr. L'Allier read the police report as follows: 2,441.3 miles driven, 232
business and home checks, 24 complaints'(4 shooting complaints), 8 accidents,
7 assists to/by other departments, 6 escapees - 5 hrs. involved, 5 escapees
returned by our department, 3 medical', 3 domestics, 3 thefts totaling $160.00,
