10/26/70 <br />Mr. Cardinal reported that Planning &Zoning had considered the sign permit #37 <br />for St. Joseph's Church and recommended that the sign be allowed with the <br />stipulation that it meet the Village code on size (maximum 24 sq. ft.). Mr. <br />Cardinal moved to grant a sign permit as above with the stipulation that the <br />size be reduced to meet code with the Engineer's approval. Seconded by Mr. <br />Bohjanen. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Cardinal mentioned that the requested sign permit #38 All be taken up at <br />the next Planning & Zoning meeting. The P&Z Board was concerned about the lack <br />of progress on the unfinished house on Highway (8) 49 belonging to Dick Olson. <br />Mr. Locher read from Section B of 2. Permits of the Building Code, stating <br />that if there ',,as not substantial progress the permit would expire unless work <br />was in actual progress. He suggested that the Building Inspector be asked to <br />check progress on the house. He noted also that another section of the code <br />prohibits living in a basement; however, Mr. Olson had been granted a permit <br />to do so at one time. Mr. Bohjanen moved to send a letter to Ni. Olson <br />offering him the opportunity to discuss the matter at a Council meeting and <br />notifying him that the Building Inspector has ordered to inspect the house. <br />Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Jaworski had no report. <br />Mr. Rosengren reported that he had received the well <br />Engineer. After discussion, during which Mr. Locher <br />vas needed for a purchase under $5,000, Mr. Bohjanen <br />Mr. Rosengren to contact three (3) different parties <br />Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried unanimously. <br />specifications from the <br />noted that no advertizing <br />moved to authorize <br />for bids on the well. <br />Mr. Rosengren reported that road work was slow because of the rain; there was <br />some gravelling to do. He had priced a five foot nylon broom for the Inter- <br />national Cub tractor at $595 plus freight from Detroit. He will get more <br />information on this. <br />Mr. Gotwald had surveyed Peltier Drive and found matters to be in a tangle. They <br />would like to clean up the corner and move dirt from there. The Clerk will write <br />Mr. Gotwald for a cost estimate on Peltier Drive by the next meeting. <br />Mr. Cardinal mentioned that dirt was washing onto Rolling Hills Drive due to the <br />excavation. Mr. Gotwald will be asked to check on this also, as well as asking <br />for the specifications on the new truck. <br />Mr. Rosengren mentioned that he :gad received forms for the release of 80th St. <br />as a haul road, but will •::gait for ltd. Gotwald to inspect it before signing the <br />release. They are working on 77th. Mr. Cardinal commented that when the crew <br />put the bridge on 80th, they had used no flashers. <br />Mr. L'Allier stated that Mr. Schuh wished to remove some 5 -6000 yards of sand <br />from the Thies property on Peltier Drive. Mr. Rosengren didn't feel that this <br />would bother anything, but wished to check ith Mr. Gotwald. Mr. Locher advised <br />that Mr. Schuh should receive a copy of Ord. No. 6E and make application for a <br />borrow pit permit. The Engineer will determine the amount of the bond needed. <br />After discussion Mr. Cardinal moved to grant a borro pit permit for fill <br />removal to Ni. Schuh providing that Mr. Schuh complies with all requirements. <br />Mr. Schuh will contact Mr. Rosengren on the requirements. Seconded by Mr. <br />Bohjanen. Carried unanimously. <br />
