2 t1 1 <br />1/11/71 <br />W. Bohjanen reported that the C&BDC had set the Open House date for February 13th, <br />so they could have a Valentine's Day dance. W. Jaworski felt that this might <br />interfere with other doings going on in the Village the same day. W. Bohjanen <br />stated that the VFW had not felt that it would interfere mich with their dance, <br />rather that the people would swing back and forth between the two. The VFW <br />dance would begin early. <br />Mr. Bohjanen gave details for the Open House: it would start about 1:30 to 2: P.M. <br />with a break for supper; a recognition program for officials would be held at <br />8 P.M. and the dance a 9 P. M4. The emcee for the program would be the first Mayor <br />of the Village.: Mr. L' . ,lier felt the : >afternoon Open House shoul,not be commercial <br />;but he had , na' objections to the- Civil Defense ,eeil3 . hand beer a t , the dance i n <br />.the, evening. ,, °Mr. Bohjanen felt that they would sell buttons for the dance <br />during that time, at a table in some corner. W. L'Allier asked to be kept advised <br />on the plans. W. Bohjanen stated that he was drafting the invitation letters. <br />They would use February 13th definitely; he would let the news articles out. <br />Mr. L'Allier announced that the Planner had tentatively set a meeting with the <br />Metro Park Board staff per our request for January 19th at 8 P.M. here for the <br />purpose of finding out exactly what they have in mind for us. <br />W. L'Allier announced a Metro Hearing at the Arts and Scienceā– Auditorium at <br />3:30 P.M. tomorrow on a major development center. Also, tomorrow night at 7:30 <br />P.M. there would be a Metro Transit hearing. The first regular meeting of the <br />Legislative Committee of the Anoka Ass'n of Municipalities would be this Saturday <br />at 9 A.M. concerning future legislation. <br />W. L'Allier stated that the bill for membership in the Anoka County Ass'n of <br />Municipalities is the same as last year: $157.57. He commented on several of <br />their achievements in the past year. W. L'Allier moved to pay the dues to the <br />Association. Seconded by W. Rosengren. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. L'Allier stated that over the holidays he had called all Council members <br />concerning the Circle Pines police car which had blown up and their request to <br />.use our second car. They had insurance as stated in a letter from their attorney <br />and would reimburse us for expenses. The car was loaned to them and has now been <br />returned. Their mayor was to keep a tab on the mileage and other expenses. W. <br />L'Allier noted that this was related to the mutual aid agreements previously signed. <br />W. Jaworski moved to confirm this action by the members to allow Circle Pines <br />to use our second car. Seconded by W. Rosengren. Carried unanimously. W. <br />Bohjanen felt that in the future if the same type situation were to occur, that <br />they should cover our name on the doors of the, ear, since it might raise some <br />question of our car were seen out of the village. <br />W.
