Tt was mentioned that a study board to handteall applications ind <br />recommendations could be foreseen. The Clerk was asked to direct a letter to the <br />Personnel Commission setting forth their responsibilities for the time being. <br />Jack Rector commented that we have two fulltime men now, why only consider hiring one? <br />W. Cardinal mentioned that the Personnel Commission had recommended that since <br />there were no Village regulations on'the Use of the time clock, that a rough <br />draft of instructions be posted above'the time clock --he had done so. Mr. L'Allier <br />noted that the Personnel Commission is only advtisory in nature and can only make <br />recommendations; the Council does not necessarily have to follow those,recommnenda- <br />tions, but have the ultimate decision. He noted, too, that the Counei does not <br />have time for in -depth study of such situations, such studies must be used in <br />conjuction with the Council's thoughts. <br />Crystal Ahlmian presented several brochures on the Dept. of Economic Development <br />whose representative will be out here on the 93rd of January at 2 Poll. to meet <br />with us and present a program. Locher stated that he had been asked to <br />verify the insurance? on checking he found that Rd House had coverage from Lloyd's <br />of London in the Amounts of $100,000 per person, $1 million per Accident and <br />`50,000 property damage; the drivers would assume their own responsibility. <br />Tntwance was made on private of the Blue Heron. mr. House, in the Audience, <br />stated that he had talked with All of the council members prior to the'rAce with the <br />exception of the mayor; he had also talked with the Out Post and Surfside. His <br />own'car had been smashed; he noted tb t the man hed fallen off the snowmobile <br />when be flew over the bank. Glenn couldn't see leaving those banks which were <br />'dengeroos and felt `that the lakes should be left for the snowmobiles And the ()Ars <br />kept off., Jack> Pector commented that W. House should be commended for getting <br />legal authority ahead of time-- snowmobilers don't. There was some discussion on, <br />snowmobiles. "'r. Locher didn't know of there were any state regulations regarding <br />cars on lakes. mr. House noted that they bed used the north side of the lake and <br />as small a portion as possible. He Agreed, after some heated Audience discuss =ion, <br />to flatted out the banks After the races are over the end of the month. <br />Al Ross reported that Washington and "molts Counties will be electing a new commiss- <br />Aioner'to the metropolitan Transit Commission soon; the date has not yet been set. <br />Mr. Ross thanked all the officials and anyone associated with the building of the <br />new Village Hell. He reminded the Council that the first meeting of the Council <br />had been held in Hoffman's Auto Parts garage and that we had come a long way. <br />He thanked everyone for a job well done. <br />lam. L'Allier thanked Mr. Ross for his gracious comments, and stated that the <br />council were grateful for the okay on the bond issue by the citizens, He noted <br />that a lot of money had been spent on the building, but that we had gotten a lot <br />of Hall for the money; a lot of time had been spent by the officials and others <br />in planning the place.
