1
53
Mr. Rosengren also stated that he had received a call from Northwestern Bell
Telephone Company requesting permission to run a cable in West Rondeau Lake Road.
Mr. L'Allier mentioned that Coon Rapids had adopted an ordinance for underground
power lines, etc, and that we should get copies from the League. Mr. Rosengren
thought that we should keep our own map of all buried lines in the Village.
Gravel has been put on the County Line road and some fill on 80th which won't be
completed until in August. Eleven loads of gravel had been put in Lakeview in
driveways. At. Mr. Gotwald's suggestion a rock basin would be installed below the
culvert by MOrris Carlson's place. There was mention of five bales of hay
scattered along 24th Avenue.
Mr. Rosengren and the clerk stated that they had had no luck in collecting the
money for the culverts installed for Mr. Tom Anderson last summer. Therefore Mr.
Cardinal moved that we turn over to Mr. Locher the collection of the fees for the
culverts and bands from Mr. Tom Anderson. Seconded by Mr. Rosengren. Carried.
Mr. Gotwald gave his ideas on fixing up Bald Eagle Boulevard, Rolling Hilis Drive
and 64th; stating that seal - coating is considered routine maintenance. He thought
that if we would put road mix on Bald Eagle Boulevard, fixing it up well, then the
County might take over its maintenance. One coat of prime on Rolling Hilis Drive
and 64th should be sufficient with sand and oil added in one year along with any
necessary patching. After discussion, during which Mr. Locher was asked to check
on the past assessments for road work on Sunset and to see if Lindberg Construction
had a bond with the State while using 64th, Mr. Cardinal moved that Bald Eagle
Boulevard be primed and sealed, that Rolling Hills Drive be primed and that 64th be
primed after the Lindberg matter is settled; that we obtain three separate informal
bids from road construction outfits rather than advertise for bids; that the Council
have the option to reject said bids, Seconded by Mr. Rosengren. Carried.
Mr. L'Allier had a question on the wording of the Centerville fire contract and
instructed the Clerk to send a copy of same to Mr. Ray for interpretation of in-
surance coverage under the contract.
Mr. Locher stated that he bad received the endorsement on the liquor liability
policy for the Apple Inn stating that the 10-day notification clause was included.
He also presented the proposed ordinance regarding road load limits and suggested
that it be studied further by the Road Study Board and the Council. He stated
that the Council has the discretion on who pays for special assessments in roads
within the Village.
Mr. Locher mentioned the action being taken by the State and St. Paul on structural
steel companies and stated that it was not worth while for the Village to enter
into. The Clerk was asked to send a copy of the notice of the action to Mr, Lechner
Supterintendent of Forest Lake Schools for their information.
The Council will consider the load limit proposal at the next meeting.
Mr. Paul Videen did not appear before the Council as requested. Therefore, W.
Jaworski moved that the Clerk write Mr. Videen again giving him a deadline of
July 22 to appear before the Council, or the Council will consider issuing a
citation for violation of Ordinance Number 21A; the Building Inspector should
check to see if the ordinance has been violated. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried.
