Evironmental Board <br />September 24, 2014 <br />Page 3 <br />5. Expand the Open Space Corridor to the south by creating meandering open space <br />next to the earthen berm <br />6. Locate the central park adjacent to the corridor if possible <br />7. Perform a more detailed Cultural evaluation of areas highlighted in the AUAR <br />8. Investigate the potential for creating a cultural site that may include space for <br />community gardens on site <br />9. Submit landscape plans for screening the west edge, the open space areas, and the <br />earthen berm � <br />10. Provide a SWPPP that is site specific and in conformance with the MPCA <br />site permit requirements <br />11. Investigate and map all private wells, weather operational or abandoned on the <br />site. <br />12. Provide a street cross-secti with de for utilities, sidewalks, and boulevard <br />trees.. <br />Ms. Bor asked about the concept plan and time frame in; plan development and what advantage <br />does the city have in going with a PUD? <br />Mike Grochala, Community Development Director, discussed the concept plan and steps the <br />development will go through before it is finalized. He also stated that the PUD allows changes in <br />lot sizes, street widths and other infrastructure to allow the city to have a more flexibility in <br />development. <br />6. DISCUSSION ITEMS / INFORMATION ITEMS <br />A. Blue Heron Days <br />K.C. Kye mentioned that they collected about 100 pounds of recycling material. He is thinking <br />of ways to improve the event. <br />• Such as have more recycling carts with wheels, try to get more volunteers, tape on <br />banners on to the truck so no one is holding the banners <br />• Asking the vendors to use compostable materials <br />• Educate people more, add more signs and be more visible <br />• Communicate better with the Parks & Recreation and Public Works staff <br />B. Project Updates <br />Recycling pamphlet for October, November, and December will be mailed to residents <br />APPROVED MINUTES <br />
