The Village cannot do filling and ditching under the <br />minimal work agreement in effect. Mr. Gotwald stated that the residents should <br />petition for road work for which they are willing to pay. Mr. L'Allier asked <br />that Mr. Gotwald estimate the cost of gravelling Orange and Maple streets and <br />the cost of fixing the drainage in the area. <br />Mr. Bohjanen asked what the cost of time spent on the Youth Center had come to. <br />Copies of the report as finally tabulated will be sent to the Council. <br />Mr. Rosengren stated that he had been tabulating the necessary expenditures on <br />the new building and equipment as thus: $40,000 for the building and $35,000 <br />for the equipment (including a new police car, pickup truck or something similar <br />and a tractor with a broom.) The cost of a metal building runs between $5-$10 <br />per square foot. Building costs in general have gone up about 20 per cent in the <br />last year. The Clerk was instructed to invite representatives from Butler Brothers <br />and another firm to talk to the Council in May. The option on the 30 acres is to <br />be taken in June. <br />Mr. Gotwald showed literature on the Torrent drainage pump, advising that the <br />Village buy one before the flooding begins. The cost would be $395.00 for the <br />3 1/2 hp pump. <br />Mr. Locher reported that he would check further on the workmen's compensation <br />policy as it seems firemen have been listed therein and charged for. He had not <br />been able to net with Mr. Siegle on the lease of land on Baldwin Lake. <br />Mr. L'Allier read the following police report: 4 stolen cars, 1 recovered; 7 misc. <br />complaints, 1 dog complaint; 2 complaints on teen-age beer parties, 3 hospital <br />runs; 2 snowmobile complaints; 1 each: domestic call, accident, helped motorist, <br />trip to Anoka, burning car; 4 escapees from the Youth Center taking two hours. <br />Mileage for the month was 1558 miles. <br />The resolution drawn up by the Anoka County Association of Municipalities re- <br />garding the Ham Lake site choice by the MAC to be approved by the Metro Council was <br />read. Mr. Rosengren moved that the Council approve the resolution and authorize <br />Mr. L'Allier to vote in favor of the resolution at the Association meeting this <br />week. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Carried. <br />The Clerk was instructed to correct the resolution pertaining to the gross income <br />tax legislative.proposal; the figure should be 1 1/4 % rather than 1 1/2%. <br />Mr. L'Allier.reported that Rep. Vern Plaisance would submit our claim for Youth <br />Center work to the Claims Committee. <br />Mr. L'Allier then submitted a list of legislative bills on which the Anoka County <br />Association was going to take a stand and asked for authorization to vote either <br />for or against same: <br />1) metro sewer bill, #-335, H--237, forming a 7-man appointed board, <br />abolishing NSSSD, etc. Mr. L'Allier then moved that he be authorized to vote <br />against the bill. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Carried. <br />2) Elective Council, H-757 & H-862; to which they were opposed as it didn't <br />give enough representation for the suburbs and gave too much for the Metro area. <br />Mr. L'Allier then moved that Lino Lakes oppose this bill. Seconded by Mr. <br />Jaworski. Carried. <br />
