Mr. Bohjanen reported that he had received a copy of the resolution on highway <br />signs as sent in by Circle Pines, He gave the Clerk copies of two resolution„ <br />regarding same to file. He stated that they were waiting for the Highway De- <br />partment to meet with them to tell them what could be done about the signing. <br />Mr. Bohjanen also reported that the Planning and Steering Committee of the Anoka <br />County Association of Municipalities had met Saturday and had scheduled meetings <br />every Saturday in June so that they could complete their report to bring before the <br />Commissioners in July. Mr. L'Allier asked Mr. Bohjanen to have this report before <br />the Association on June 25th. Mr. Bohjanen stated that it would be a lengthy report <br />as they had lots of material. <br />Mr. Rosengren reported that representatives of Mr. Jandric had asked permission <br />to upgrade Seventh Avenue to Birch Street at their cost -- seal -coat- and oil be- <br />sided gravel. This would look good for their customers. Mr. Gotwald would have <br />to check their plans. Mr. Locher stated that we would have to see their insurance <br />coverage soon on this. <br />Mr. Cardinal moved to authorize temporary seal- coating and general up- grading of <br />Seventh Avenue provided this was done under the supervision of the Engineer and that <br />proof of insurance was received. Seconded by Mr. Jaworski. Carried. <br />Mr. Rosengren stated that Mr. Gotwald was preparing the cost estimate for the <br />seal- coating work to be done this year. Mr. Backlin stated that they would work <br />on8Oth tomorrow, digging the holes out and filling with gravel. He thought they <br />should gravel the whole piece, although it is holding up quite well. They would <br />like to up -grade the bounty Line; will try some pit -run gravel for the base and add <br />Class 5. Some of the roads are now ready for the oil, but dust control is needed. <br />Calcium Chloride was suggested in front of the driveways. This works well as it <br />packs and keeps the road moist. Mr. Gotwald is checking on liquid sulfite prices. <br />Mr. L'Allier asked whether the standing water along the County Line by 80th <br />couldn't be filled with the clay being removed from 80th. No, sand or gravel <br />must be used. Mr. Bohjanen asked if they would get an estimate on filling the <br />ditches with pit -run gravel or blow -sand to eliminate the standing water. Yes. <br />Mr. Bill Houle asked whether they couldn't dig out the ditches on the County Line <br />North to 80th. Mr. Rosengren asked where they would run the water to. The ditches <br />are filled with stones - -it would be too hard work. Mr. Houle thought a grader could <br />handle it. They will check. <br />Some of the work has been done on Ware Road. They hadn't heard from Shiffsky yet. <br />Mr. L'Allier asked Mr. Locher if he had heard yet on the disposition of the <br />Municipal Court things. No, he will call again. Mr. Locher had told them that <br />we weren't interested in any of the things. However, the County should pay for <br />the books they confiscated, even tho they can't use any of the other books or robes. <br />Mr. L'Allier reported on the special police meeting which Tawas held with Judge <br />Forsberg, stating that members of the police from Lexington, Circle Pines and <br />Centerville had attended. The meeting was very informative and the proceedures <br />of District Court were explained. <br />There was a complaint that no resume of Municipal Court proceedings had been <br />received. The Clerk was instructed to contact the 81erk of District Court to get <br />the monthly resume. Judge Forsberg had offered to come again to explain any pro - <br />ceedures and answer questions. <br />
