I9
Mr. Bob Olson asked how one went about getting the gas company to proceed further with
their lines. He was told to contact Mr. Blaylock, our liaison to the company.
The Clerk read a letter from Harold Braastad stating that we will have to be moved out
of the Hall building by Sept. 1, 1969. Mr. Ken Rehbein stated that at the time he had
sold the building to Mr. Braastad, he hadn't indicated that he intended to take over
so soon.
There was discussion on getting the sizes and costs for a new building by the next
meeting and trying to get title to an acre or so of the property now being purchased.
The Park Board minutes were read July 21st.
Mr. Jaworski moved that the Parks Dept. purchase a Lawn Boy mower, 21" self - propelled,
for the price of $115.00. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried.
Mr. Jaworski then stated that he had done much checking on prices, etc., and had been
told to stay away from the small garden tractor variety - -12 h.p. or so. He had
received two prices on an International Cub Low -Boy tractor: Peron Motors: $2000;
another dealer had given the price of $1800 for both tractor and 60" mower. The
engine is 16 h.p. water - cooled. After some discussion on type and price of tires,
Mr. Jaworski moved to table the matter until next time. Seconded by Mr, Cardinal.
Carried.
Mr. Bohjanen stated that he had no report as he was on vacation.
Mr. L'Allier stated that he was still receiving complaints on Leo Bruder. Mr. West
had stated that Mr. Bruder had sold 4 of his routes; that he had taken out 3 loads of
trash on Friday and Saturday, that he would now have 1 day a week off to continue
cleaning up the place. However, Mr. West could notice no difference in the appear-
ance of the place. Mr. Jaworski said that Mr. Myhre had stated that when he inspected
the place he had thought it well cleaned up. Mr. Locher noted that a complaint
would have to be signed before the matter could be taken to court. Mr. Locher was
asked about the new $300 limit on municipal fines and stated that the ordinances must
be amended in order to change the fines from $100 to $300.
Mr. Bohjanen thought that Mr. Bruder should be asked to come before the Council again.
Mr. L'Allier said that he has had more than ample time to clean up and that the
Council has been lenient.
Mr. Jaworski moved that the police officers sign a complaint on August 15th if
Mr. Bruder has not cleaned up by then. There was no second to the motion.
Mr. L'Allier mentioned that the County Association would meet in Coon Rapids on
Wed., July 30th, at 5 p.m. to review all sub - committee work, to give the definite
responsibilities of same, to compose a resolution to Metro Council on the NW Airlines
action, to discuss the elimination of the tax - exempt status of municipal bonds, and
suggesting Commissioner Al Kordiak for a position on the Metro Council Open Space
Board.
Mr. L'Allier moved that Lino Lakes pass a resolution to be sent to the State
Legislators asking that they defeat the pending legislation suggesting that the
exemptions be removed from municipal bonds as we feel that this would be detri-
mental to the existence of communities since the lower rates and exempt status of
municipal bonds is a simple prerequisite to their survival. If we had to pay the
same interest as the rest of the market, we would receive no bids on our bonds.
Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried.
