240
will then be written up in booklet form. They will also request census and taxation
information and would like to have a map showing boundaries of the school districts.
The brochure will be done regardless of the waiting of the airport decision.
Mr. Bohjanen asked whether the Engineer had given us a final report on the supposed
pollution at the Youth Center. He will contact Mr. Gotwald on it.
Mr. Bohjanen also asked whether we had ever received the survey from the Flanagans
regarding their garage next to Schwankl's. The Clerk reported that nothing had
been received and was instructed to write the Flanagans for a progress report.
A copy of the motion asking for the survey will be included in the letter.
Mr. Rosengren reported that the planned work on Bald Eagle Blvd. could not be done
because they had run short of help. They had needed time for the contractor to
haul the material, and then no help was available. Instead they had substituted
putting liquid sulfite on 4th Avenue from Main Street to Pine Street, also on the
east end of 80th from the bridge to the County Line. Some of the material had been
left over so they had put it on East Rondeau Lake Road. This seems to be working
out and should hold up for one year. Mr. Rosengren thought that he might ask to
use more bf this sulfite at the next meeting --it is available and being stored at
New Brighton.
Mr. L'Allier noted that there was a drop -off from the bridge on 80th onto the
approach aprons. Mr. Rosengren stated that this bridge was not yet done. Mr.
Denny Houle insisted that the Village should write the contractor about this.
The Clerk was instructed to write -- Mr. Rosengren will get the name and address
of the contractor.
W. Rosengren also noted that water to thin the sulfite had been purchased from
Elwell Farms and a bill would be forthcoming. He had also needed to take a
piece of 6" hose for the sulfite.
Mr. L'Allier reminded the members of the meeting set the following evening for
drawing up the specifications for the new municipal building.
Mr. Rosengren stated that Bald Eagle Blvd. would be done as soon as possible.
Mr. Gotwald will attend the next budget meeting.
Mr. L'Allier announced that he had a volunteer for the Personnel Commission. He
therefore appointed Mr. Jerry Bolin, East 64st St., to serve on the Personnel
Commission. Mr. Jaworski moved to confirm the appointment. Seconded by
Mr. Cardinal. Carried.
Mr. L'Allier reminded the Council of the CD auction to be held on Sunday,
September 14th. Mr. L'Allier stated that the State Auditor's Office had told him
there would be an additional sales tax rebate this year, at the rate of $1.34 per
capita, to go in general funds.
Mr. L'Allier also stated that Vern Plaisance had said that the Legislature had
approved 100% of our claim against the State for policing at the Youth Center.
However, it will take some time for the money to be disbursed.
Mr. L'Allier reminded that the meeting on policing at Lexington would be held at
7 p.m. on September 18th with several speakers to be present. A request for a
survey by the State Crime Apprehension Bureau has been made.
