4 <br />Mr. Locher stated that the other licenses, beer, dancing and cigarette, must be <br />IIIreissued at prorated fees, and refunds must be prorated to the present owners. The <br />liquor licenses are transferable with no new fees needed. Mr. Horbal was told that <br />we would need his proofs at the next meeting—the decision would be made then. <br />Mr. Rosengren stated that they would start working tomorrow making the repairs on <br />Bald Eagle Blvd. He mentioned the possible purchase of a tandem dump truck. Upon <br />questioning, Mr. Rosengren said that a tandem would do a better job since they are <br />heavier; they are more practical. Mr. Jaworski mentioned that the State doesn't <br />use tandems; shouldn't we have a grader? Mr. Ken Rehbein stated that they use only <br />tandems because they don't need so much repair from being overloaded. <br />Mr. Jaworski moved that Mr. Gotwald draw up the specifications for a tandem dump <br />truck and send out bids on same. Seconded by Mr. Bohjanen. Carried. Mr. Rosengren <br />felt that if they wold the big truck they might get enough to buy a plow and wing <br />for the new truck. Ken Rehbein estimated that there would be $5000 difference <br />between a single and tandem truck. <br />Mr. Rosengren stated that Mr. Juleen thought that, since we wouldn't get much if we <br />sell the old police car, we could use it for the fire marshall. It could be painted <br />and used as an emergency vehicle; they could also carry equipment in it. <br />Mr. Rosengren suggested that the Road Department install metal posts by all culverts <br />so that they can be located in the winter; these posts would be low enough so that <br />the plows won't hit them. The estimated cost if $100. He also mentioned that Oneka <br />would pay their share of work done on their 200' of Bald Eagle Boulevard. <br />IIIMr. Rosengren also stated that Meyer Sign Company was willing to donate a small <br />10" by 20" sign at the freeway entrance on Highway 8 announcing that all services <br />were available on Highway 8 between the entrance and the Forest Lake exit. They are <br />also willing to conate a similar sign for 35E when it is completed. <br />Mr. Rosengren announced that the Board of Twitchell Cemetery is purchasing three more <br />acres from the Wahlbergs. To raise the $500 they will be having an auction in <br />October. Their current charge is $75.00 for a double lot. Mr. Rosengren would like <br />to see the Village become involved in this cemetery as it is not church - connected. <br />Mr. Gotwald stated that the 1969 sealcoat program was completed and that the contractor <br />will pick up surplus aggregate in two weeks. <br />Mr. Bohjanen asked Mr. Gotwald about the final report on the supposed pollution <br />at the Youth Center. Mr. Gotwald stated that he had taken the samples and submitted <br />them for analysis; however, an error had been made, the samples lost or destroyed <br />and no report was available. He said that we could ask him to do it over again; <br />however this was not a good time of the year. He suggested it be done in the spring <br />or maybe in October if we had enough rain. <br />Mr. Rosengren commended Mr. Ken Rehbein for the work he had been doing along Fourth <br />Avenue in cleaning out the swamp. He mentioned the pre -fab houses, one is up and <br />ready for inspection and the other was to be put up in Twilite Acres the following day. <br />IIIMr. L'Allier announced the meeting of the County Association of Municipalities which <br />was to be held this Wednesday in Fridley at 8 p.m. to discuss fiscal disparities. <br />Mr. L'Allier also reminded the Council of the meeting to be held on October 2nd <br />with Mr. VanHousen, the Planner; the Planning and Zoning Commission members will also <br />be present. <br />
