Mr. Locher will check on the Minnesota Report Volumes which may be given to him.
Mr. Myhre thought that if the police consolidation goes through, they should have
a library.
Mr. L'Allier read the following police report: miles travelled -- 2,110, 4 domestics,
11 complaints, 2 recovered cars, 2 stolen cars, 1 hit and run property damage, 2
accidents, 1 stolen motorcycle, 2 other stolen property, 1 grass fire, 7 junk cars
moved, 1 vandelism, 2 medical, 1 bread -in, 2 prowler calls, and two Youth Center
escapees requiring one hour of police time.
Mr. Myhre had checked the trailer in Lakeview also and told the owner to check with
the Council. Mr. Myhre had been asked to check on the number of cars being worked
on on a lot on Sunrise Avenue. He had told Mr. Krueger to quit working on them and
this had ceased.
Mr. L'Allier asked whether we had received a copy of the new Centerville Fire Contract
and was told "no ".
Mr. Locher read parts of the new municipal contracting law passed June 4, 1969 as
follows: Subd. 4. Contracts from $500 to $5,000. If the amount of the contract is
estimated to exceed $500 but not to exceed $5,000, the contract may be made either
upon sealed bids or by direct negotiation, by obtaining two or more quotation& for
the purchase or sale when possible, and without advertising for bids or otherwise
complying with the requirements of competitive bidding. All quotations obtained
shall be kept on file for a period of at least one year after receipt thereof.
Subd. 5. Contracts less than $500. If the amount of the contract is estimated
to be less than $500, the contract may be made either upon quotation or in the open
market, in the discretion of the governing body; but, so far as practicable, shall
be based on at least two quotations which shall be kept on file for a period of at
least one year after receipt thereof. Copies were filed with the Clerk.
