80. <br />The necessary papers to approve 35E passing through this village were <br />signed and given to Mr. McCubrey. Motion by Backlin, second by <br />Anderson to accept the resolution. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Motion by Backlin and second by Anderson that we take the village <br />census as soon as possible. The attorney will have information on <br />this for the next meeting. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Speiser next reported on the skating rinks saying the one at Luthers <br />had been kept in good shape, but was not being used. Also, the stove <br />had not been moved out of the warming house there yet. The park on <br />Sunrise is used extensively. <br />Mr. Speiser also stated the bingo games were continuing on,Thursday, <br />and asked Mr. Kelling for a financial report. Mr. Kelling reported <br />$217 in the treasury and credited part of their success to the "49" <br />club for their donation of the hall, lights and speaker. He also <br />reported that the St. Paul Chamber of Commerce asked for advertising <br />on the trees, which had been turned in, andthat flowering crab trees <br />will again be available this spring at cost. <br />Mr. Anderson had no reports but inquired when and where the meetings <br />for the hospital board were held. He will report on this at a later <br />meeting. <br />Motion by Domning, second by Speiser, that we retain Dr. Medboe of <br />Forest Lake as Village health Officer. Carried unanimously. <br />Motion by Backlin, second by Speiser, to rehire the B&E Patrol of <br />New Brighton for dog catching. Motion carried unamimously. <br />A letter requet by the VFW to operate a bingo game in the village was <br />read. Clerk was asked to send a written invitation to the officers <br />of the VFW to appear at the next meeting for discussion. <br />A written financial report for the Women's Civil Defense was tendered <br />by Mrs. Juleen. <br />Motion by Backlin and second by Speiser, that Gunder Gunderson and <br />Bob Lundgren be appointed as raod commissioners. Carried unanimously. <br />Bids for oil were reviewed and on motion by Anderson, second by <br />Speiser, the low bid of l3.4 was accepted from Larson. Carried unan. <br />Discussion was again opened on salaries for the police officers, which <br />was placed at t140 wer month for Bob Raymond, and $125 per month for <br />Elwood West, plus °5 a month clothing allowance. Motion by Downing, <br />second by Speiser, that this be accepted. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Clerk was instructed to bill the Catholic Church for $50 for elec- <br />tricity for 1964, for pole on Elm Street. <br />1 <br />1 <br />Motion by Downing, second by Speiser, that a financial audit be taken III <br />as soon as possible.
