1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />COUNCIL MEETING MAY 11, 1992 <br />that the proposed Ordinance No. 07 - 92 include wordage that <br />would require the resident to connect to municipal water at the <br />time they connect to sanitary sewer. Mr. Schneider also <br />recommended that the Municipal Water Ordinance be amended to read <br />that when a well failed and the resident connected to the <br />municipal water system, they must also connect to the sanitary <br />sewer. <br />Council Member Neal moved to adopt the second reading of <br />Ordinance No. 07 - 92 as amended. Council Member Elliott <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Ordinance No. <br />07 - 92 can be found at the end of these minutes. <br />Consideration of Change Order - Mr. Schneider explained that at <br />the regular Lino Lakes City Council meeting held on April 27, <br />1992, Resolution No. 92 - 52 was adopted which approved the plans <br />and specifications for Wenzel Farms, Third Addition. This <br />resolution passed with the understanding that a change order <br />would be prepared which would add the Wenzel Farms, Third <br />Addition quantities to the existing Wenzel Farms contract. This <br />change order has been prepared in the amount of $118,909.08 and <br />is being submitted at this time to the City Council for approval. <br />Mr. Schneider recommended approval of the change order. <br />Council Member Bergeson moved to approve Change Order No. 6 to <br />the Wenzel Farms contract to include those quantities for Wenzel <br />Farms, Third Addition. Council Member Neal seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 92 - 65 Accepting Bids for controls and Telemetry <br />System for the Water System - Mr. Schneider explained that bids <br />for this project were accepted at the regular Council meeting <br />held on April 27, 1992 and the award was delayed to allow further <br />review of the bids. After further review and discussion between <br />TKDA and the City's staff, it is recommended that the contract be <br />awarded to the Prest Company in the amount of $29,995.00. <br />Although the Prest Company is the second lowest bidder with the <br />lowest bid being submitted by Edison Controls, Inc., the lowest <br />bid was deemed unresponsive to the request for information to be <br />submitted with the bid. The Prest Company proposal also better <br />complied to the functional specification requirements. <br />Council Member Bergeson asked if the water tower construction was <br />within budget. Mr. Schneider said well within budget. He also <br />noted that $35,000.00 was budgeted for the controls and the bid <br />being recommended tonight is for $29,995.00 which is also within <br />budget. <br />Mr. Hawkins noted that this matter was discussed at the Wednesday <br />staff meeting.
