1'02
COUNCIL WORK SESSION JULY 8, 1992
draft letter address police protection only. He said he did not
want to pull out of the Common Ground Committee completely.
Mr. Schumacher said he would bring the draft of the letter to the
next Council work session.
Police Survey - Council Member Bergeson asked if the City Council
will meet to discuss the response to this survey. Mr. Schumacher
said that there would be a meeting. Mayor Reinert explained that
there will also be a survey of the Public Works Department. The
purpose of the surveys was to cement better relationships.
Remodel Police Station - Council Member Neal explained that he
had Chris Vigor prepare a plan for the addition to the police
station. Mr. Schumacher was asked to obtain a cost estimate and
to determine how the addition would be financed.
Pine Street Improvement - Mr. Schneider explained that a petition
had been received from a number of residents along Pine Street
requesting that the street be improved and that there be no
assessments. He explained that the entire project would cost
about one (1) million dollars and equate to about $50.00 per
front foot.
Mr. Schneider explained that the residents along Pine Street feel
that this should be a City financed project because sometime in
the distant past there was a program to blacktop gravel streets.
There was discussion regarding the City Charter requirements.
Council Member Bergeson asked that a list of such streets be
prepared along with several suggestions on how these streets
could be improved.
Mr. Schneider will hold an informal meeting with the residents
along Pine Street on this matter.
Reshanau Lake Boat Access - Mr. Schumacher gave the background on
this matter. The boat access was proposed for an outlot in the
Reshanau Park Estates subdivision. The latest proposal on this
matter is to use the outlot for recreation purposes and resolve
the matter of boat access by having meetings and getting the
facts straight. Since the lot is zoned residential a plan must
be submitted to the Planning and Zoning Board for their review
and permits must be obtained from the DNR.
A group consisting of the homeowners association and residents
around the lake are meeting weekly and are getting closer to a
resolution on the matter. Access to the lake is the biggest
concern and not everybody will be happy with the final solution.
PAGE 4
1
1
1
