234 <br />COUNCIL MEETING SEPTEMBER 14, 1992 <br />Mr. Schumacher explained that a three (3) year contract has been <br />negotiated with the 49ers union. It has been a lengthy process <br />involving six (6) mediation session. The most significant issues <br />are salary, insurance and vacation adjustments. <br />Mr. Schumacher noted that the contract is effective January 1, <br />1992 and members will be paid the difference in salary from that <br />date. <br />Council Member Kuether moved to ratify the contract. Council <br />Member Neal seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION NO. 92 - 114 AUTHORIZING THE <br />PREPAYMENT OF THE 1984 IMPROVEMENT BOND <br />The City has the option of early payment of the 1984 Improvement <br />Bond. This improvement bond matures in November, 1994. An early <br />payment would save the City two (2) years of interest at 9 %. The <br />dollars are available in the bond fund to early payment. <br />Council Member Kuether moved to adopt Resolution No. 92 - 114 <br />authorizing the early payment of the 1984 Improvement Bond. <br />Council Member Neal seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />CONSIDERATION OF ACCEPTING DONATION OF PARK BUILDING FROM THE <br />CITY OF SHOREVIEW <br />The City of Shoreview has given the City of Lino Lakes the <br />opportunity to purchase one (1) of their older park buildings for <br />$1.00. Shoreview plans to replace the building with a new <br />facility. <br />The building is hexagon shaped with approximately 400 square feet <br />of floor space. The building is in excellent condition and can <br />be used for summer and winter activities. A concrete slab will <br />be needed to set the building on. No footings will be required. <br />The Park Board has considered the offer from Shoreview and has <br />approved the expenditure of approximately $5,400.00 from <br />Dedicated Park Funds to move the building, construct the concrete <br />slab and complete the site preparation work. <br />Council Member Elliott moved to approve the Park Board request to <br />obtain the building from the City of Shoreview.
