1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />�t9 <br />SEPTEMBER 9, 1992 <br />agreement with Mr. Laska was five (5) years and asked why Mr. <br />Wegan was not given five (5) years as well. <br />Mr. Schumacher explained that Mr. Wegan's hearing would be very <br />soon. Mayor Reinert noted that some residents who operate <br />businesses in residential neighborhoods do not "irritate" their <br />neighbors. <br />ESTABLISH A PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />Mr. Schumacher explained that there was a personnel committee <br />established by the City Council. He asked that the committee be <br />re- established to consider such issues as labor relations, <br />personnel issues, personnel reviews, etc. Mr. Schumacher asked <br />that two (2) Council members and himself be constitued as the <br />committee. <br />Council Member Bergeson asked what the purpose of the committee <br />would be and also asked if employees could bring issues to this <br />committee. Mr. Schumacher said no but the committee would <br />discuss grievances. <br />Mayor Reinert expressed concern that the two (2) Council members <br />would have the support of the full City Council and that there <br />would be no outside political interference. Mr. Schumacher said <br />he felt that the full City Council should discuss critical <br />issues. <br />Mayor Reinert asked Mr. Schumacher to define this committee <br />fully. He said he felt that if there is a situation that <br />requires discipline, the full City Council should be involved. <br />SHOREVIEW PARK SHELTER <br />Mr. Volk explained that the City of Shoreview has offered to Lino <br />Lakes a recreational building at no cost. This building would be <br />moved to Birch Park. The moving and restoration costs would be <br />less than $8,000.00. This includes site preparation of about <br />$3,000.00. Council Member Kuether asked if Lino Lakes needs this <br />building. Mr. Volk explained that it would replace a mobile <br />trailer type building at Birch Park. The structure is in <br />excellent condition and all costs involved would be paid from the <br />Dedicated Park Fund. <br />Mr. Volk was asked to put together a project tracking sheet on <br />this matter for City Council packets.
