54
COUNCIL MEETING FEBRUARY 22, 1993
Council Member Elliott seconded the motion.
Council Member Neal said he would not vote for this motion
because he felt that the money should go for local people. He
noted that all money funded for ACCAP would stay in the community
and this would not be true for Alexandra House.
Council Member Bergeson noted that $66.00 must be taken from
another area to balance the resolution. He recommended taking
this from the Disabled Recreation Program.
It was noted that the resolution had listed the wrong amounts for
ACCAP and RISE,Inc. Ms. Hendricks said that she would prefer to
see Alexandra House fully funded and ACCAP funded less. She
noted that the new facility is needed very much because the
problem of battered women and their children is growing
throughout the County.
After considerable discussion, Council Member Kuether withdrew
her motion and Council Member Elliott withdrew her second.
Council Member Kuether made a second motion to divide the
1993/1994 CDGB fund as follows:
ACAPP $4,125.00
RISE, Inc. $1,000.00
Alexandra House $1,600.00 (program)
$7,000.00 (facility)
Surface Water Manage-
ment Program
Senior Program
Disabled Recreation
Program
$5,000.00
$10,000.00
$6,434.00
Council Member Elliott seconded the motion.
