56 <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING FEBRUARY 14, 1994 <br />recommended by Mr. Volk were his subcontractors and would not <br />work for the City if he was not selected as the general <br />contractor. He also noted that he was asked to bid the job as a <br />whole but to identify each item separately. Mr. Racutt also <br />noted an error in his bid. <br />After further discussion on this matter, Council Member Elliott <br />moved to table action on this item until the matter could be <br />discussed with Mr. Volk. Council Member Bergeson seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Set Meeting with the City of Hugo for March 28, 1994 or March 30, <br />1994 - Mr. Schumacher explained that he had spoken with the Hugo <br />City Administrator and these two (2) date are open for the Hugo <br />City Council. He noted that March 28, 1994 is the regular Lino <br />Lakes City Council meeting and suggested that the City Council <br />set Wednesday, March 30, 1994 as the meeting date. Lino Lakes <br />will host the meeting. Further information will be forwarded to <br />the City Council when all arrangements have been completed. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Consideration of an Application for Authorization for Exemption <br />from Lawful Gambling License, St. Joseph Catholic Church - Mrs. <br />Anderson explained that the State of Minnesota allows non-profit <br />organizations to file an application for Authorization for <br />Exemption from Lawful Gambling License if the non-profit <br />organization hold five (5) or fewer gambling occasions each year. <br />St. Joseph Catholic Church holds three (3) gambling occasions <br />each year; Easter, Summer Festival and Thanksgiving. <br />St. Joseph Catholic Church is applying for an exemption for their <br />Easter gambling occasion. There have been no reported problems <br />or concerns with previous gambling occasions. <br />Council Member Neal moved to approve the application for <br />Authorization for Exemption from Lawful Gambling License for St. <br />Joseph Catholic Church. Council Member Elliott seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Consideration of an Application for a Gambling License for the <br />National Ataxia Foundation - Mrs. Anderson explained that an <br />application for a gambling license had been received from the <br />National Ataxia Foundation. Included with the application is a <br />copy of the proposed lease with Lee's of Lino Lakes and a diagram <br />of where the gambling operation will be located. <br />PAGE 16 <br />1 <br />
