Council Member Neal seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />No action is required on this matter this evening. This begins <br />the 60 day waiting period. <br />CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION NO. 94 - 30 IMPLEMENTING POLICIES <br />ADOPTED BY THE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT COORDINATING BOARD ON <br />OCTOBER 28, 1992, DON VOLK <br />Mr. Volk explained that government bodies who agree to implement <br />environmentally responsible procurement policies and to use best <br />efforts to recycle 50% of the total solid waste generated on tax- <br />exempt properties owned by the city will be given a 20% reduction <br />of the total charges on their 1994 property tax statement. <br />Recently the City received tax statements for five (5) parcels of <br />landed owned by the City. These parcels include city hall, fire <br />station, police station, Shores of Marshan Lake Park and the well <br />house in Rice Lake Estates. The property tax statements <br />indicated that a Solid Waste Management tax in the amount of more <br />than $1,300.00 was owing the County. Lino Lakes and all other <br />municipalities appealed the tax and as a result the tax for the <br />Rice Lake Estates well house was eliminated and the tax on the <br />remaining buildings was reduced by 40%. An additional 20% <br />reduction can be realized provided the City Council adopts <br />Resolution No. 94 - 30. <br />Mr. Volk explained the Solid Waste Management Coordinating Board <br />policy adopted October 28, 1994. <br />Council Member Neal moved to adopt Resolution No. 94 - 30. <br />Council Member Bergeson seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 94 - 30 can be found at the end of these minutes. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Consideration of Accepting Bank Bids for Banking Services - Mr. <br />Schumacher explained that the City has not solicited bids for <br />banking services for many years. This year bids were requested <br />and five (5) bids were received. After comparing the bids, <br />Firstar Bank of Hugo is the best choice for the City. Firstar <br />will guarantee the present fee schedule for one year. The City <br />will be charged for wire transfers and non -sufficient checks. No <br />other fees will be assessed.
