t <br />f <br />1 <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION JANUARY 17, 1996 <br />Ms. Dahl said that staff had told her that there was $250,000 in escrow from the <br />developer of Brandywood Estates to be used in the reconstruction of 12th Avenue. She <br />asked why this amount is not shown on the feasibility report. Staff was directed to <br />research this matter and present the information at the regular Council meeting on <br />Monday. <br />Mr. Hawkins suggested that MSA funds be used to fund the reconstruction of 12th <br />Avenue/Holly Drive to the south end of the Trapper's Crossing subdivision and the <br />balance of the road be reconstructed using the funds assessed to the Trapper's Crossing <br />developer. <br />This matter will be discussed more fully at the public hearing on Monday. <br />CENTENNIAL MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDY, DAVID AHRENS <br />Mr. Ahrens gave each Council Member a handout detailing a meeting held with the <br />School District regarding the construction of the middle school on et. <br />Four (4) options were proposed for the construction of the ray past this <br />proposed school. A map of each option was presented an a. ;•pt' ; as discussed. <br />Staff indicated which option they preferred and expl at entennial School <br />District and Mr. Glenn Rehbein would be asse or the roadway re- <br />alignment. A public hearing is required for th •roje and is tentatively scheduled for <br />February 26th. <br />This project has been placed o s . ck . ecause the School District would like to <br />occupy the building this f r th.'' the first of the year. <br />School bus traffic dis ed. Chief Bennett asked how many buses would be using <br />Second Avenue to r. Ahrens explained that the intent is for bus traffic to <br />utilize the signal lig a ill be placed at Elm Street and Lake Drive as much as <br />possible. The City s ld be sensitive to the residents on Second Avenue. <br />Chief Pecchia explained that the Lino Lakes Police Department has been involved with <br />this proposal from the beginning and he is impressed by the "homework" prepared by the <br />School District. <br />This matter will be placed on the February 26th Council agenda. <br />CANCELLATION OF CONTRACT WITH MINNESOTA POLICE <br />RECRUITING SYSTEM, (MPRS), CHIEF PECCHIA <br />Chief Pecchia explained that the City joined MPRS about two (2) years ago. He <br />suggested that it is in the best interest of the City to sever ties with this organization and <br />PAGE 3 <br />
