COUNCIL MEETING <br />DECEMBER 19, 1994 <br />the list that will be given to the Board so that they can make <br />their selection. Anoka County is also pursing a cooperative <br />agreement with the Minnesota Department of Transportation <br />(MnDOT). However, currently this intersection is 350th on <br />MnDOT's list of priorities. Finally, Anoka County will be <br />submitting this intersection as a hazard elimination safety <br />project under the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency <br />Act (ISTEA) program. This is a new program and the Anoka County <br />Highway Department will be sending further information to Mr. <br />Powell. If Resolution No. 94 - 99 is adopted by the City <br />Council, it will be forwarded along with the letters and other <br />information to Anoka County and they will prepare a presentation <br />for the State. <br />Mr. Powell explained that a cooperative agreement between Anoka <br />County, MnDOT and the City to get the intersection signalized is <br />being prepared to be submited to MnDOT. In the interim, Anoka <br />County and the City of Lino Lakes will contact MnDOT to have a <br />three (3) way stop sign installed. Mr. Powell will update the <br />City Council on the progress of this matter. <br />Mr. Powell was asked if there have been any accidents at this <br />intersection. He explained that there have been some in the past <br />and noted that this information is in a file kept by the Chief of <br />Police. <br />Council Member Elliott moved to adopt Resolution No. 94 - 99. <br />Council Member Kuether seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 94 - 99 can be found at the end of these minutes. <br />CONSIDERATION OF REQUEST FOR CLASSIFICATION OF ECONOMIC <br />DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT, BRIAN WESSEL <br />Mr. Wessel explained that as a result of the accelerated momentum <br />established in economic development in 1994, he is requesting <br />that the full-time secretarial position be upgraded to the <br />professional position of Economic Development Assistant. This <br />specifically would mean that in addition to in-house community <br />development administrative support, this position would include <br />selected "in the field" representation of the City on matters of <br />economic development, public relations, marketing and promotions. <br />The current secretary has the credentials for this position and <br />over the past 18 months as a part-time (3/5th time) Economic <br />Development employee, has demonstrated a capability and <br />commitment to providing excellent economic development services <br />on behalf of the City of Lino Lakes.
