1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />COUNCIL MEETING JANUARY 23, 1995 <br />CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION NO. 95 - 06 ACCEPTING DONATION FROM <br />THE CIRCLE -LEX VFW, POST #6583 FOR THE D.A.R.E. PROGRAM, CHIEF <br />PECCHIA <br />Chief Pecchia explained that commencing in 1995, the Lino Lakes <br />Police Department began teaching the D.A.R.E. Program in the <br />local elementary schools. The goal of the Lino Lakes Police <br />Department is to ensure that the D.A.R.E. Program will become <br />totally funded through donations from the community. The Circle - <br />Lex VFW, Post #6583 is aware of this goal and has donated <br />$8,000.00 toward the cost of administering the program in the <br />local elementary schools. The purpose of Resolution No. 95 - 06 <br />is to publicly thank the Circle -Lex VFW, Post #6583 for their <br />very generous donation. <br />Council Member Bergeson moved to adopt Resolution No. 95 - 06 <br />thanking the Circle -Lex VFW, Post #6583 for their donation. <br />Council Member Kuether seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 95 - 06 can be found at the end of these minutes. <br />CONSIDERATION OF A PROPOSAL FOR SOLID WASTE SERVICE AT CITY HALL, <br />JACKIE CONSTANT <br />Ms. Constant explained that BFI Waste Systems currently provides <br />recycling services to the City Hall and Waste Management - Blaine <br />provides the solid waste removal. She requested quotations from <br />all licensed haulers in Lino Lakes for City Hall services in an <br />effort to provide service at a reasonable cost and eliminate the <br />need for two (2) haulers to come to City Hall each week. <br />BFI Waste Systems proposed the lowest cost for both services. <br />They will not charge a fee for recycling pickup which will save <br />an average of $49.00 per month. The overall savings for the year <br />will be $1,200.00. <br />Council Member Kuether moved to approve Ms. Constants <br />recommendation that BFI Waste Systems provide recycling and solid <br />waste removal services at City Hall. Council Member Neal <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />PLANNING REPORT, MARY KAY WYLAND <br />Consideration of a Minor Subdivision, Steve and Deanna Haeg, 171, <br />White Pine Road - Ms. Wyland explained that in May, 1993, the <br />City Council approved a subdivision to split a 90 foot by 137 <br />foot lot from an existing 15 acre parcel. Since that time a home <br />has been constructed on the new lot and the buyers would like to <br />PAGE 9 <br />
