COUNCIL WORK SESSION MARCH 20, 1996 Financing the street improvement project was discussed. Mayor Landers felt that MSA funds should not be used since much of the additional traffic will come from outside of the City. The public hearing scheduled for March 25th will be rescheduled to allow time for staff to prepare the information requested by Council. This matter will be discussed further at the next work session. Several residents of the Elm Street area were in the audience and asked Council to prepare a plan for the overall area. They expressed concern about safety issues caused by the additional traffic generated by the Middle School. The residents felt that the Council was not listening to their concerns and asked Council to consider options that would place the access to the Middle School some place other than on Elm Street. The residents also asked Council to consider how the impact on Elm Street will affect their property values. Many activities are planned. Council will be updated on this matter. REGULAR AGENDA Agenda Item No. 10C, Centennial Middle School - Staff noted that several issues remain unresolved including the location of the access road and the funding for the access road.
