COUNCIL WORK SESSION APRIL 3,1996 <br />• system. It appears that one of the access points may be from the Pheasant Hills Preserve <br />area. It was noted that there are connection points in the Lino Lakes Comprehensive Plan. <br />• <br />The elimination of dead end trails is another Park Board goal. Other goals include <br />upgrading Country Lakes Park and establishing a fund for an athletic complex. <br />Mr. Lindy mentioned that many park efforts in other communities happen because <br />communities and other entities work together in a cooperative effort such as the <br />construction of the pedestrian bridge over I-694 in Shoreview. Currently, the Park Board <br />is working with the Centennial School District in a cooperative effort to establish quality <br />recreation opportunities at that site. The Park Board has also considered looking into a <br />cooperative effort for the Centennial School District property on Birch Street. <br />The Council thanked Mr. Lindy for his presentation. <br />DISCUSS DESIGNATING INTEREST INCOME FOR ROAD <br />RECONSTRUCTION, RANDY SCHUMACHER <br />Staff presented a proposal to use some interest income to . > .i ad <br />reconstruction fund. Although each Council Member used this form to assign points <br />to each candidate, not all Council Members used the evaluation form as the basis for their <br />selection of candidates. In addition, the tabulation of the votes was incorrect. Staff offered <br />three (3) courses of action: <br />1. Leave the action as it was done. <br />2. Correct the error. <br />3. Redo the entire process. <br />Mayor Landers indicated that he felt no one person should be appointed to more than one <br />board or committee. Council Member Bergeson felt there was an honest tabulation error. <br />His concern regarded the use of the evaluation process. Some Council Members used that <br />PAGE 3 <br />
