COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 22, 1996 <br />the southeast quadrant of the I-35E/Main Street interchange. The watermain would be <br />extended to this area from the existing trunk watermain on Birch Street near Sherman <br />Lake Road. The plans for this project were ordered by the City Council February 12, <br />1996 and a draft set of plans have been submitted to the City staff for their review. <br />Construction of these improvements is scheduled to begin near the end of May, 1996. <br />The funding source for this project is the City's Area/Unit (Enterprise) Fund, no <br />assessments are proposed as part of this project. A copy of the advertisement for bids has <br />been forwarded to the legal newspapers contingent upon the City Council's approval of <br />this resolution. <br />Mr. Ahrens explained that since this project is a City initiated project, a 4/5ths majority <br />vote is required. <br />Mr. Wessel said that the City Council complimented him on the pace at which we were <br />able to develop the Apollo Business Park. He accepted the compliment on behalf of the <br />staff and consultants. However, the most important part of that team is the City Council <br />and the support that you gave the whole effort for the Apollo Business Park. Mr. Wessel <br />said that this is another key issues regarding the development of the Clearwater Creek <br />Business Park. He said that he will be bringing before the City Council on Monday <br />evening two (2) businesses for that park which will kick off that development. This <br />watermain project is very much a part of the commitment that staff has made to those <br />businesses. Mr. Wessel asked for City Council consideration on this project. <br />Council Member Kuether moved to adopt Resolution No. 96 - 41. Council Member Neal <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Resolution No. 96 - 41 can be found at the end of these minutes. <br />CONSIDERATION OF ANNUAL APPOINTMENTS, RANDY SCHUMACHER <br />Mr Schumacher explained that each year the City Council is required to made annual <br />appointments to its advisory Boards. As in the past, the vacancies were advertised and <br />applicants were interviewed.
