• <br />• <br />SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 29, 1996 <br />Mr. Peterson explained that the Lino Lakes facility will be a branch of Taymark <br />specializing in producing decorations for proms, home -comings and other similar <br />specialty items. The company is very excited about relocating in Lino Lakes since a <br />majority of seasonal and part-time employees live north of the twin cities. <br />Mr. Peterson anticipated that construction on the facility would begin immediately upon <br />approval and occupancy is expected about October 1st depending on the weather and the <br />construction site. <br />Until Otter Lake Road is realigned, the entrance to this proposed facility will be on a <br />shared driveway with the Laborer's Training Center. Anoka County has not requested a <br />traffic study but will require a turning lane. Council expressed concern regarding access <br />for the proposed facility. Staff assured the Council that the Otter Lake Road realignment <br />project would be completed and the utilities extended when the new facility is ready for <br />occupancy. <br />Staff recommended site plan approval with nine (9) conditions out ' he "green <br />sheet". <br />Taymark has reviewed all nine (9) conditions of approv u d i'aff. Council Member Kuether <br />otion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Landers welcomed Taymark to Lino Lakes. <br />CONSIDERATION OF SITE PLAN AND MINOR SUBDIVISION REQUESTS <br />FOR NORTHERN WHOLESALE, BRIAN WESSEL/MARY KAY WYLAND <br />Mr. Wessel introduced Mr. Nick Gargaro, President of Northern Wholesale. Northern <br />Wholesale is owner -operated and has been in operation for 24 years. They are currently <br />located in Maplewood. Their employment base is 50 people with an anticipated <br />expansion to 75 following their move to Lino Lakes. <br />Mr. Gargaro explained the nature of his business. <br />PAGE 3 <br />
