COUNCIL WORK SESSION MAY 8, 1996
The purpose for VLAMO is to protect the St. Paul water supply. The 1994 and
1995 VLAMO Annual Budgets funded projects to improve water quality and to
provide clean water to St. Paul.
VLAMO updated their Water Surface Plan in 1995. The Plan outlines wetland
issues and water quality plans. It also requires each participating City to update
their Surface Water Management Plan. The Rice Creek Watershed District will be
updating their Plan as well.
There are pressures to make VLAMO a watershed district. If pressure continues,
the Council should be aware that VLAMO would become another taxing district.
Mr. Keehn will continue to meet monthly with Mr. Ahrens to discuss issues
concerning VLAMO.
REVIEW OF THE CITY'S WATER SUPPLY PLAN, DAVID AHRENS
Mr. Ahrens presented a draft of the City's Water Suppl
the Council in October, 1995. Items such as fencing and
barriers and assessments for the improvement to Holly Drive including turn lanes
are all addressed in the Agreement.
PAGE 3
