COUNCIL WORK SESSION AUGUST 21, 1996 <br />with the City if the City asks for Metropolitan Council assistance on any project. They <br />want cities to solve their own transportation problems. <br />Staff explained that the Comprehensive Land Use Plan must be drafted before the <br />Transportation Plan can be finalized. Mr. Robinson is developing a model Transportation <br />Plan for Lino Lakes. This plan must be reviewed and approved by several agencies. SRF <br />is guaranteeing approval of the Transportation Plan. <br />This matter is on the August 26th Council agenda. <br />SOLID WASTE ADVISORY COMMITTEE GOALS, JACKIE <br />CONSTANT/LINDA ELLIOTT <br />Ms. Constant and Ms. Elliott presented three (3) solid waste removal goals prepared by <br />the Solid Waste Advisory Committee. These goals were presented to the haulers at a <br />recent meeting. The haulers were not happy with the prospect of organized solid waste <br />collection for Lino Lakes and complained that the program did not ' y incentives <br />for them to upgrade their services. <br />Staff explained that the Solid Waste Advisory Committe <br />Council enacts a resolution approving the goals just <br />approve the goals and a resolution stating the i <br />organized solid waste program. <br />Council discussed the goals and d <br />ahead until <br />cil was asked to <br />uncil is to establish an <br />aourth goal: "Hours of Operation". <br />Ms. Constant explained t rs will prepare a response to the goals. Mr. Dunn was told that the City would monitor <br />service and performance. <br />This matter is on the agenda for Monday evening. <br />RECOMMENDATION ON THE ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE <br />DON DUNN <br />Ten (10) candidates for the Environmental Affairs Committee were received. One <br />candidate dropped out prior to the interviews. The candidate interviews have been <br />completed and the Committee feels that all are very good candidates and all should be <br />appointed to the Committee. <br />PAGE 2 <br />
