• <br />• <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION JUNE 4, 1997 <br />DISCUSS REVISION OF MUSA AMENDMENT CRITERIA, BRIAN WESSEL <br />Metropolitan Council has allowed the City a bank of 150 acres of MUSA to be used in <br />specific areas of the City. Staff developed and Council approved a policy for allocating <br />the acreage. This policy directed that 50 acres of MUSA be used in 1996, 1997 and 1998. <br />Only 9.44 acres of MUSA were allocated in 1996 and the staff is requesting that the <br />balance of the 1996 allocation be added to the 1997 allocation and if there is a balance <br />left at the end of 1997, that balance be allocated in 1998. <br />Council expressed concern regarding the lack of an overall development plan. Staff <br />agreed and explained that is why criteria should be established to allocate the remaining <br />MUSA. <br />This matter will be placed on the next Council agenda. <br />CONSIDER ORDINANCE NO. 13 - 97, AMENDING T""N, I . The FIRST READING of these <br />ordinances will be placed on the Council agenda for Monday evening. <br />DISCUSS MARVY STREET OPTIONS, DAVE AHRENS <br />The septic systems of two residents on Marvy Street have failed. Although the lots are <br />large, there is not sufficient upland area to build a mound system on one of the lots. The <br />residents have asked the City Council to consider extending sanitary sewer service across <br />the lot of one property owner from Apollo Drive. Council directed staff to consider three <br />(3) options to provide utility service to these residents. The options are: 1) extend sewer <br />service from Apollo Drive to all lots along Marvy Street; 2) extend sewer service to only <br />PAGE 3 <br />
