COUNCIL WORK SESSION JUNE 18, 1997 <br />have prepared a petition requiring the City Council to either repeal the ordinance or place <br />it on the November election ballot for consideration by the citizens. The petition was <br />reviewed by staff and deemed to be "insufficient". The petitioners were advised that the <br />petition was "insufficient". The petitioner's have since filed another petition with the <br />required number of signatures. The two (2) petitions will be brought to the next City <br />Council meeting. Staff is requesting the City Council accept the petitions and direct staff <br />to place the Ordinance on the November, 1997 election ballot. <br />The petitions will be placed on the June 23, 1997 Council agenda. <br />DIANA TURNER/SUNSET ROAD DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL, DAVID <br />AHRENS <br />Ms. Turner purchased her home on Sunset Road five (5) years ago. Since that time she <br />has discovered several problems with the property. The most recent . the failure <br />of her septic system. <br />Ms. Turner requested that either the City extend sanitary <br />utilities to serve her property or the City purchase h-.•ro <br />lots could be sold once sanitary sewer and mum' <br />property. <br />Council noted that there is a real s <br />however, purchase of her prope <br />a lengthily process. '11 be placed on the July 9th work session agenda. <br />DISCUSSI STING ADVISORY BOARDS, DAN TESCH <br />Mr. Tesch presented a handout that outlined the background on each of the advisory <br />boards and committees and explained how each functioned. <br />Discussion followed regarding the 20/20 Group and the Citizens Advisory Group (CAG). <br />The Council has accepted the final report from the 20/20 Group. Some members of the <br />Council understood that this was the final act of that Group. Mayor Landers indicated that <br />this Group felt that dollars were budgeted for them to use to begin implementation of <br />their final recommendations and that they would continue to function in an advisory <br />capacity as the recommendations were implemented. <br />Council will review the handout from Mr. Tesch.
