• CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION JANUARY 5, 2000 Ms. Divine stated Mr. Babacas is looking at several different communities for a location. The City must examine the impact of a stadium on the east side of the City and the neighboring communities. Staff advised Ms. Divine is the spokesperson for the City regarding this issue. Council scheduled a special meeting Thursday, January 13, 2000, 6:00 p.m. to discuss the stadium issue. The plat has been revised and the developer would like to move forward. Two outstanding issues relating to the plat include roadway/transportation issues and the access to Main Street. A road to the south was promised to property owners to enable those property owners to subdivide. Staff will recommend the road be developed. The access to Main Street is critical to the City and developer. The church and developer have not been able to reach an agreement. To this point, staff has not been involved in the negotiations. Direction is needed from Council to act as a go between. The issue is to get the access provided according to the transportation plan. Council requested a copy of the Planning and Zoning Board minutes and a copy of the map relating to this issue.
