CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION FEBRUARY 9, 2000 <br />Mayor Bergeson stated the goal of the meeting is to get a Plan passed. The Plan can be <br />passed by a 3/4 vote with a short Council or a 4/5 vote with a full Council. Each Council <br />Member's level of comfort with the proposed Plan should be determined at the special <br />meeting. <br />REILING SETTLEMENT UPDATE, MARY DIVINE <br />Staff advised the Board of Commissioners have come up with the numbers for the Reiling <br />property that the City is taking by eminent domain. The Commissioners have determined <br />the land is worth $275,000, or $1.64 per square foot. <br />Mr. Reiling is not appealing the settlement. He is however, appealing the City's right to <br />take his land. The case will be reviewed in March, 2000. <br />Staff advised the City will have to determine a funding source for the $275,000. The <br />money will be placed in escrow until the appeal is settled. The money will be noted on <br />the February 28, 2000, disbursements. <br />WENZEL FARMS/CITY OF HUGO WATER SERVI <br />AGREEMENT AND EASEMENT VACATION RE <br />Staff advised the City of Lino Lakes has receiv � • u om the City of Hugo and the <br />developer of the Wenzel Farm subdivision fo ice. The City of Lino Lakes has <br />the capability to provide this service b , �� F lated to the joint powers <br />agreement and the development as a resolved prior to approving an <br />agreement. The two main iss a ter ervice and a vacation request for Elmcrest <br />Avenue. Staff indicated t cern of a north/south connection from Main Street <br />to Cedar Street. <br />Staff distributed a <br />recommended chan n`+etail. She suggested the City of Hugo pay for the trail and landscaping in <br />exchange for the water service. She also expressed concern regarding the Cedar Street <br />residents being even more cut off from Lino lakes. She requested more information <br />regarding the traffic flow.
