CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION MARCH 8, 2000 <br />STADIUM UPDATE, BRIAN WESSEL/JEFF SMYSER <br />Staff distributed a report regarding the impact of a stadium in Lino Lakes. All the <br />information is preliminary information to be used prior to the presentation of the project <br />at the next work session. <br />Staff briefly reviewed the report detailing the tax base impact of the project. It was noted <br />that the growth pace will be slower without the stadium, but could be more beneficial <br />than the growth caused by the stadium. <br />Staff added that the developer has not asked the City for any financial assistance <br />regarding the project. Staff asked for Council direction regarding the distribution of the <br />report to the developer. <br />Council directed staff to stamp "draft" on the report. <br />This item will be discussed at the next Council work session n; arch 22, <br />2000. <br />TOWN CENTER DEVELOPMENT UPDATE, W L <br />Staff advised work is continuing on the Mast <br />group, and Mr. Baylor. A draft <br />plan will be distributed to Council. <br />Council determined they will meet with the Planning and Zoning Board Wednesday, <br />April 12, 2000, 5:30 p.m., to discuss the design standards. <br />Mayor Bergeson advised the City of Centerville has been invited to the Stadium <br />presentation at the next work session. He requested the meeting be moved up so they can <br />attend. <br />It was the consensus of Council to start the Council work session at 4:45 p.m., on <br />Wednesday, March 22, 2000. <br />3 <br />
