CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION JUNE 7, 2000 • the furthest point of the pool to not exceed 4 feet over the easement line. The letter included a copy of the plat showing approximately where the pool would be placed. Council Member O'Donnell stated the variance request at 9 feet was black and white. He advised he visited the property and evaluated the overall benefits of granting the variance. He stated that he believes a partial 4 -foot wall is more of an obstacle than what is already on the property. A variance of 3-4 feet is more of a gray area. He noted the staff recommendation of denial stands. He stated the enjoyment of the family is also important and should be considered. Council Member Reinert stated a hardship has been caused to the applicant due to the easement being on a large part of their property. The variance request is down to 4 feet and should not be that big an issue. Council Member O'Donnell requested more facts regarding drainage of the .00l and comments from neighbors. Mrs. O'Fallon advised the neighbors have indicated they will si s e ' owing support for the pool. She stated she will give the City docu t ing emergency drainage and removal of the pool. Council Member Dahl advised she can not make a decision until she visits the site. This item will appear on a future City Council meeting agenda.
