CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION JUNE 21, 2000 <br />Council Member O'Donnell asked how Lake Drive will be impacted if the event <br />continues in the current location. Staff advised Lake Drive is currently impacted. <br />However, there would be more impact on the local streets if the site is moved. <br />Chief Pecchia advised the Sno Baron Club pays overtime for officers that direct traffic. <br />The event is a popular, well run event. There are no other issues other than negative <br />traffic in the proposed location. <br />DAIRY QUEEN SITE PLAN AND CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT, JEFF <br />SMYSER <br />Staff advised the application include a site plan and conditional use permit for a new <br />Dairy Queen on 21st Avenue at Northern Lights Blvd. The site is zoned GB General <br />Business. Restaurants with a drive-through facility require a conditional use permit in the <br />GB district. <br />The site is part of a preliminary plat that was approved by the Ci 1997. <br />No final plat was approved. Staff noted Mr. Rehbein has not yet received the letter. <br />Staff advised they are requesting approval of the project conditioned upon all outstanding <br />issues. <br />Mr. Lessard advised he must have the building open by mid October 2000. If the <br />business is not open by that time, he has to go back to the Dairy Queen for another <br />approval. He noted he has invested $35,000 to $40,000 in this project. <br />Council Member O'Donnell asked if the project could proceed if the Council grants <br />approval.
