Staff advised residents don't' want the road to go through at all. They want no <br />development in the area. The road has been planned to go through to 62n1 Street for quite <br />some time. <br />Council Member Reinert asked if the long-range plan includes West Shadow continuing <br />to Ash Street. <br />The City Engineer advised it is unlikely the road will continue to Ash Street due to <br />development constraints and wetlands. <br />Mayor Bergeson pointed out that if the City never makes north/south connections, it will <br />accelerate the need for a larger road on Hodgson. All the traffic goes down Birch or <br />Hodgson and that causes the need for those roads to be larger to accommodate the traffic. <br />Council Member Carlson stated everyone should all work together and offer a <br />compromise. Staff referred to a map indicating the placement of the trail. <br />Mr. Carlson advised the trail placement was discussed at the Planning and Zoning Board <br />meeting and neighborhood meeting. All four (4) affected residents asked that the trail be <br />moved. He stated he offered to put in a buffer but moving the trail would be easier. <br />Mayor Bergeson suggested the trail and easement be combined. <br />Council Member Dahl advised she was in favor of this project with a cul-de-sac. <br />
