Mayor Bergeson inquired about the procedure used for other construction damages. Staff <br />advised the contractor provides water while the well is dry for the short term. Staff noted <br />the construction did have an effect on the pond. <br />Mayor Bergeson asked if there is any recourse to the construction company. Staff <br />advised that the City has no recourse with the construction company. <br />Council Member O'Donnell asked if the City can pump excess water out of the pond if <br />necessary. Staff advised the City has pumped out the pond in previous years. <br />Council Member O'Donnell inquired about the cost of replacing the water. Staff advised <br />the cost would be approximately $500. The pond is on an outlot. <br />Mayor Bergeson asked if residents are prevented from putting water in the pond. Staff <br />advised that adding water to the pond could affect the pond capacity. Passing lanes will be constructed <br />Council Member d about a slower speed limit in the area of construction. <br />Staff advised they b ve slower speed limits are posted. <br />Council directed staff to confer with the Police Department and investigate any safety <br />concerns in the construction area. <br />"OLD" OTTER LAKE ROAD VACATION REQUEST, JOHN POWELL <br />Staff advised property owners in the "old" Otter Lake Road area have requested vacation <br />from "new" Otter Lake Road to the RV driveway. The reason is to gain access from <br />Otter Lake Road. Historically, the City has charged a nominal amount for a roadway <br />vacation. <br />Staff continued stating that if the City can satisfy access to the properties, this is an <br />option worth evaluating. <br />
