Mayor Bergeson advised Council Members to read the document and come back with <br />any comments or questions for staff. <br />This item will appear on the August 23, 2000, Council work session agenda. <br />TOWN CENTER UPDATE, MARY ALICE DIVINE <br />Staff advised the City of Lino Lakes is in first place of the first phase of the Livable <br />Communities Grant. There are $6.9 million dollars available for the program. Forty-six <br />applications were received. If the City is awarded the grant, the City will be obligated to <br />implement the concept but the details may vary. The criteria for livable communities <br />must be met. Staff noted the second phase of the application process is very tough. <br />Council Member Dahl asked if there were 440 housing units included in the application. <br />Staff advised there were 440 units included in the concept plan. The plan will require <br />that all design standards are met. <br />Council Member O'Donnell asked for an example of how the fused. Staff <br />advised the City requested the funds for infrastructure. <br />Mayor Bergeson inquired about the cost of the infra <br />concept plans. Staff advised the infrastructure <br />dollars. Staff <br />,.r <br />Staff distributed a f the design standards noting that no revisions have been <br />made to the reside ;:1, _ •• ds. <br />The Community De opment Director advised the Planning and Zoning Board has had <br />four (4) public hearings regarding this issue. Staff is requesting direction from Council <br />regarding the Design Standards to be competitive for the Livable Communities Grant. <br />The Planning and Zoning Board has endorsed the preliminary draft unanimously based <br />on revisions. <br />Council Member Carlson expressed concern that the City has not addressed traffic <br />standards. <br />Council directed staff to add the Design Standards to the regular Council agenda <br />Monday, August 14, 2000, 6:30 p.m. <br />Mayor Bergeson called for a short break at 9:00 p.m. <br />Mayor Bergeson reconvened the meeting at 9:10 p.m. <br />
