CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION NOVEMBER 22, 2000 <br />Council Member Dahl asked how Anoka County feels about the traffic study. The City <br />Engineer advised the City initiated the study. The County has been contacted regarding <br />information and will receive a copy of the study. When a request for a right in access for <br />the McDonald's was received, the County indicated they were against that. The City has <br />had on going conversations with the County regarding this issue. If the study shows that <br />another access is functional, the County may allow it. <br />Council Member Reinert confirmed there will be a buffer and power lines on the north <br />end of Target. He recommended that the City pays attention to that and hopefully can <br />bury the power lines. He asked what will happen if a second access is not found. <br />Mr. Palmquist stated that he believes the City will not have a project if a second access is <br />not found. He stated the City does need some design standards in place for the site. <br />Council directed staff to move forward with the project and continue to negotiate with <br />Target. <br />Staff advised the City the Livable Communities committee has recommended that the <br />City of Lino Lakes should receive $450,000 for implementation, rather than the $1.5 <br />million the city requested. Staff will look at what opportunities this funding will provide <br />for the City. Staff is meeting with Ms. Carolyn Krall next week regarding options to <br />move forward. The recommendation now will go to the committee at the Metropolitan <br />Council. Staff will continue to market this project. <br />
