CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION NOVEMBER 22, 2000 <br />channels. There are only two (2) towers that have backup generators. Staff reviewed the <br />benefits of the new system noting it will give the City one emergency center. <br />Council Member O'Donnell stated that he learned through the meetings that the new <br />system is the only viable alternative for the County. The new system will impact the <br />citizens of Lino Lakes. <br />ANOKA COUNTY JOINT LAW ENFORCEMENT JOINT POWERS <br />AGREEMENT, DAVID PECCHIA <br />Staff advised Council Members previously received copies of the agreement. Staff stated <br />the agreement is a clean up issue. Staff commented on the benefits and changes in the <br />current agreement. She read the resolution that encourages a cooperative effort to work together <br />on this project. She suggested that the City of Lino Lakes use the same format and vote <br />on it Monday. She read the resolution as it was presented. She noted the City of <br />Shoreview did pass the resolution. <br />Council Member O'Donnell advised he is in support of the resolution. He expressed <br />concern regarding someone spearheading the initiative in the resolution. <br />Mayor Bergeson stated that the resolution should be forward to the County if it is <br />approved.
