COUNCIL MINUTES DECEMBER 18, 2000 Council Member Carlson stated the City Engineer has indicated Ramsey County is agreeable to a meeting. Ms. Heaser asked if residents will be notified about the joint meetings. The City Administrator advised that residents will be notified about any future meetings regarding the project. No one else was present for open mike. ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT, DAN TESCH Approve Contract with Local 49, Linda Waite Smith — Staff referred to a copy of a one-year agreement, recently negotiated between the City and Local 49 (public works). Highlights include: • Effective 1-1-2001 —12-31-2001 • 3% cost of living — some minor market adjustments. • Language changes making this document more co • $425.00 insurance contribution Staff advised the members of Local 49 have ratified this Staff noted that the contract cost more than come from the Public Service Departme up from other salary savings through r personnel policy put in the budget. Council Member Reineeconded the motion. Council Member Carlson commended the City Administrator and Director of Administration for completing the contract negotiations so quickly. Motion carried unanimously. 2001 Board Appointments, Linda Waite Smith — Staff advised that each year the City Council is required to make appointments to their advisory boards and committees. Advertisements for these positions are placed in the legal newspaper and City newsletter. Applications were submitted, and interviews held on December 6 and 13, 2000. Additional appointments will be made at the first meeting in January 2001.
