COUNCIL MINUTES DECEMBER 18, 2000 <br />Council Member Carlson stated the City Engineer has indicated Ramsey County is agreeable to a <br />meeting. <br />Ms. Heaser asked if residents will be notified about the joint meetings. <br />The City Administrator advised that residents will be notified about any future meetings regarding the <br />project. <br />No one else was present for open mike. <br />ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT, DAN TESCH <br />Approve Contract with Local 49, Linda Waite Smith — Staff referred to a copy of a one-year <br />agreement, recently negotiated between the City and Local 49 (public works). Highlights include: <br />• Effective 1-1-2001 —12-31-2001 <br />• 3% cost of living — some minor market adjustments. <br />• Language changes making this document more co <br />• $425.00 insurance contribution <br />Staff advised the members of Local 49 have ratified this <br />Staff noted that the contract cost more than <br />come from the Public Service Departme <br />up from other salary savings through <br />r personnel policy <br />put in the budget. All of the salaries <br />the extra cost of the contract will be made <br />Council Member Dahl asked + employees from City Hall the contract will effect. Staff <br />advised the contract effects m�� yees from the Public Works Building. <br />Council Member Dahl : , • pprove Contract Labor Agreement with Local 49, as presented. <br />Council Member Reineeconded the motion. <br />Council Member Carlson commended the City Administrator and Director of Administration for <br />completing the contract negotiations so quickly. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />2001 Board Appointments, Linda Waite Smith — Staff advised that each year the City Council is <br />required to make appointments to their advisory boards and committees. Advertisements for these <br />positions are placed in the legal newspaper and City newsletter. Applications were submitted, and <br />interviews held on December 6 and 13, 2000. Additional appointments will be made at the first <br />meeting in January 2001. <br />
