CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION JANUARY 3, 2001 <br />Council Member Carlson stated the project does need a 4/5 vote from Council. She <br />stated she wants to see a compromise that benefits both residents and the developer. She <br />stated she is in favor of the road going through when the properties on the south side <br />develop. She stated she understands the impact on people, especially those with large <br />properties. She stated a compromise is needed and she believes it can be resolved. <br />Staff advised the original intent of the meeting is to give the developer direction. Staff <br />indicated the developer has the information he needs to proceed. Staff advised a <br />barricade is a good compromise. Connecting the roadway at this time is beneficial from <br />an engineering standpoint. <br />Mayor Bergeson called for a short recess at 6:25 p.m. <br />Mayor Bergeson reconvened the meeting at 6:40 p.m. <br />CSAH 49 RECONSTRUCTION, JOHN POWELL <br />Staff advised the latest action by the City was sending the lette ' ounty and <br />Anoka County regarding a joint meeting. A date for the meeting will be s c �' . y , ity <br />Administrator and City Engineer. <br />Mayor Bergeson stated he received a call fro ounty Commissioner Margaret <br />Langfeld asking for the City's support o reduce the speed limit on <br />Hodgson Road. If the request is s : ounty Engineer would be able to <br />construct the roadway on a dif t y i elines. Commissioner Langfeld is going <br />to pursue the request with, and e Board will draft a resolution. <br />TOWN CENTED'�' � 3 , MA Y ALICE DIVINE <br />Dellwood LLC U Wessel — Staff advised an update and new schedule will <br />be presented this e <br />Mr. Tom Palmquist, Ryan Companies, stated he will give a brief update since the last <br />meeting. Ryan Companies has been working on the EAW and ISP documentation. <br />Wetland issues have been looked at. Discussions have been held regarding the <br />preliminary traffic report. He indicated he feels that the traffic issues can be resolved to <br />move forward with the project. A neighborhood meeting was held on December 20, <br />2000. Thirty-six residents attended the meeting. Residents overall had a good feeling <br />about the project. The main concern is the traffic as well as buffering. The plans <br />presented to the residents included the aerial view, specific view, site and grading plan, <br />utility plan, and project schedule. He distributed a copy of the new schedule and <br />indicated a drawing of the exact building will be available tomorrow. <br />Mayor Bergeson stated that public hearings are sometimes continued to another meeting. <br />He suggested the Planning and Zoning Board be notified that a special meeting may need <br />to be scheduled to complete the public hearing. <br />
