CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION JANUARY 3, 2001 <br />Council Member Carlson inquired about a discussion with the County regarding the <br />number of stoplights. The City Engineer advised the traffic study focused on the whole <br />area until 2015. It is conceivable that six (6) stoplights will be installed along that stretch <br />of roadway. <br />Council Member Carlson expressed concern regarding not having a stoplight at 77`'' <br />Street. The City Engineer advised that neighborhood traffic will be an issue and will be <br />addressed as the project moves forward. <br />Mr. Bill Zanoni, a representative from Target, came forward and distributed a brochure <br />about the Target Superstore. He commented on the location of the store, the Community <br />Give Back Program, and store operations. <br />Mayor Bergeson asked for a description of the grocery store. <br />Mr. Zanoni stated the grocery store is comparable to a Byerly's. T <br />service bakery, meat and produce department. The store will b <br />square feet that will include a Starbucks. He noted that the <br />Wisconsin is the closest one to visit. <br />Mayor Bergeson inquired about the neighborh <br />Mr. Palmquist indicated the neighbor <br />stated he left the meeting feeling <br />would be more opposition. Access <br />issues and how costs are shared between Mr. Baylor, Mr. Rehbein, Ryan Companies and <br />the City also need to be addressed. <br />Mayor Bergeson stated there are a lot of improvements that are needed on Lake Drive. <br />He asked if the City can work with the County for funding. The City Engineer indicated <br />the City can work with the County on Turn Back Funds for the improvements. <br />Council Member Carlson expressed concern regarding how much this will cost and how <br />much it will cost the City. She inquired about the money that was set aside for the traffic <br />
