COUNCIL MINUTES JANUARY 8, 2001 <br />No one else was present for open mike. <br />PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT, RICK DEGARDNER <br />Consideration of Adopting Final Master Plan, Clearwater Creek Park — Staff advised in <br />September 1999, the City obtained 5.5 acres of parkland in the Clearwater Creek Third Addition for a <br />neighborhood park. A meeting was held on November 6, 2000, to allow area residents an opportunity <br />to provide input on what amenities they would like to be considered for Clearwater Creek Park. A <br />follow-up meeting was held on December 6, 2000, to look at and comment on some better defined <br />scaled master plans. The Park Board reviewed and discussed the final draft master plan at their <br />January 4, 2001, meeting. <br />Staff continued stating Mr. Jeff Schoenbauer from Brauer and Associates, is here this evening to <br />present the final master plan for Clearwater Creek Park as well as discuss cost estimates for <br />development of the park. Assuming the final master plan is adopted tonightthis will be the City's <br />guide as Clearwater Creek is developed. <br />Mr. Schoenbauer reviewed the master plan and cost estimates f noted the master plan <br />is contingent upon other park issues such as the future devel thletic complex. <br />Mayor Bergeson inquired about the funding for th <br />Staff advised the Park Board established their 20 <br />amounted to approximately $60,000 for <br />Creek Park. Motion carried unanimously. <br />ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT, DAN TESCH <br />Temporary Adjustment for Receptionist Position, Linda Waite Smith — Staff advised during <br />preparation of the 2001 operating budget, a request for an administrative assistant for the <br />Administration Department could not be accommodated. As a substitute, the City Council provided <br />funds that could be used to pay for additional administrative duties to be assumed by the Receptionist, <br />Lisa Hogstad. Per the AFSCME labor contract, employees who are required to perform higher level <br />duties on a temporary bases are paid 10% additional compensation. <br />The alternative to a temporary adjustment in duties and compensation is to change the job description <br />for the Receptionist. This is not recommended. Ms. Hogstad's background as a legal secretary <br />• <br />
