CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION FEBRUARY 7, 2001 <br />Powell advised Hawthorne Road is 32 feet wide. West Shadow Lake Drive is wider than <br />Hawthorne is. <br />Mr. Tom Drow, 6317 Red Maple Lane, came forward and asked what the trigger will be <br />to move the cul-de-sac if the development is allowed to be built. He stated that he does <br />not believe the City can legally stop the development. He also asked if 62nd Street would <br />be constructed first if no cul-de-sac were developed. <br />Mayor Bergeson advised the Council has discussed some options for a trigger that include <br />removing the barricades when 62nd Street is completed, when 62nd Street and Hodgson <br />road are completed, and a specific amount of time. Council has not yet determined what <br />the trigger will be. <br />Mr. Kohl stated his group supports the extension going through as soon as possible. He <br />asked for a show of hands of those present who support the connection. He noted most <br />residents present are in favor of the connection. <br />A resident came forward and stated he owns one of the propert <br />build on. Staff referred to a map indicating the area. Mr. Goertz has requested a <br />subdivision and submitted a very rough concept plan. <br />Mr. Goertz stated he is looking for direction from the Council. The property is zoned R-1 <br />and is within the MUSA. He stated he would like to go with a PDO for more open space. <br />The plan includes single-family homes, twin and triple homes. He indicated he would <br />like to keep the area around the townhomes as common area owned by the association. <br />He asked for direction regarding the PDO. <br />3 <br />
