COUNCIL MINUTES JUNE 11, 2001 <br />City Planner Smyser advised the Park Board reviewed the application and recommended the park <br />dedication be cash fees in lieu of land. <br />City Planner Smyser advised the Environmental Board reviewed this request and recommended <br />approval subject to comments and conditions. <br />Council Member Reinert asked what was more typical if board -on -board fence was not typical. City <br />Planner Smyser replied they typically would not have screening between single-family developments, <br />but with the road coming in, this was not a typical situation. He stated it depended what type of an <br />impact there was on the southern side. <br />City Engineer Powell stated the lot was unique and it was necessary to buffer it properly. He stated a <br />board -on -board fence and landscaping should be added around the lift station. <br />Mayor Bergeson requested a condition be included for screening ." the i then come back when <br />final approval was being requested. <br />Rocky Geartz, applicant, stated they were agreeable to a f cei 1.® scaping if requested. City <br />Planner Smyser stated staff would be comfortable with hat or th a' al plat. <br />Council Member Carlson asked if there would bA.== e aroui d the lift station. City Engineer <br />Powell replied it would not be fenced and there as no' ger of children playing in the area. <br />Council Member Carlson expressed con th the curb of the road and the lights from the cars <br />disturbing the neighbors. <br />Council Member Reinert asked cation regarding park dedication. He stated a .26 acre park <br />was not much to work with . mm ded taking a cash dedication. <br />Council Member Dahl as �, were having curb and gutter. City Planner Smyser and City <br />Engineer Powell replied thwe 'e required. <br />Mayor Bergeson asked if applicant would be coming back to staff to realign the lot they had given up <br />if the Council accepted cash in lieu of land for the park dedication. Mr. Geartz, replied they would <br />realign the lots from 51 to 52 lots. Mr. Geartz stated the cash donation would be $86,580.00, <br />however, it did not make any difference to him either way. <br />Council Member Carlson asked about the land use and planning and if the second sentence could be <br />eliminated from the report. <br />Council Member Dahl moved to adopt Resolution No. 01— 79, as amended by the City Planner and <br />City Engineer, and accept park dedication for cash fee. Council Member Reinert seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />10 <br />
