• <br />• <br />COUNCIL MINUTES JUNE 11, 2001 <br />Resolution No. 01— 79 can be found in the City Clerk's Office. <br />FIRST READING, Ordinance No. 10 — 01, Rezoning; FIRST READING, Ordinance No. 09 — <br />01, Comprehensive Plan Amendment; and Resolution No. 01— 77 Preliminary Plat, Saddle <br />Club, Heritage Development, Cindy Sherman (NAC) <br />This item was removed from the Agenda. <br />FIRST READING, Ordinance 08 — 01, Selling Property on Birch Street/Hodson Road to Anoka <br />County (3/5 Vote Required) — City Engineer, Powell advised in 1995 the City purchased from <br />Anoka County a .7 -acre property known as the "Kaiser" property on the northeast corner of Birch <br />Street and Hodson Road. The property had a small abandoned home and several outbuildings, and it <br />was zoned General Business. The intent of the property was to make it available for commercial <br />development. However, the County last concluded that it needed a significant amount of the parcel <br />for right-of-way for future widening of Hodgson Road. The County B. had approved purchasing <br />the entire parcel back from the City at the current market value of : ,401 The owner of Apitz <br />Garage and the County would subsequently negotiate an agree t � the mainder of the land for <br />the expansion of the Apitz facilities. <br />Council Member Carlson asked why they were conside ing `F e s f this property at this time. City <br />Engineer Powell replied the County had requested p the property and this had been <br />identified in the past. <br />Council Member Carlson asked what was t unty gave as an expansion of Birch Street. <br />She expressed concern that they did not . hat t e plans were. City Engineer Powell replied he <br />did not have that information for this t ' he County needed property in this area for <br />expansion. <br />Council Member Dahl stated .µieve this was premature. <br />Council Member Reinert <br />replied the County was req <br />meeting. He suggested tabli <br />ere was urgency to act on this tonight. City Engineer Powell <br />this, but if it was delayed it would be brought back at a future <br />this item to allow more time to address concerns. <br />Council Member Carlson moved to refer this to staff for further consideration. Council Member Dahl <br />seconded the motion. <br />Council Member Reinert requested this be put on the next Workshop agenda. <br />Council Member O'Donnell requested the road issues also be addressed. <br />Council Member Carlson also requested having some response from Anoka County as to their <br />intention for the road. <br />
