CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION SEPTEMBER 5, 2001 <br />this area might be on next year's ballot. At this point it is not known if sewer and water <br />will be installed. <br />Mayor Bergeson suggested the pond be sealed. <br />Mr. Boeckman stated that if the project goes ahead as proposed, the City should pick up <br />the cost of moving the well. <br />Mayor Bergeson suggested the City go the legal rout before the engineering route <br />regarding this issue. <br />City Engineer Powell stated the City could also ask the City Attorney how much it would <br />costs to condemn the whole pond. <br />Council directed staff to confer with the City Attorney regarding t :alities of this <br />issue and the cost of condemning the whole pond. <br />City Engineer Powell recommended that that the very mi y proceed with the <br />ditch cleaning. <br />2002 BUDGET DISCUSSION, AL ROLEK <br />Finance Director Rolek advised there are tw <br />approve the proposed 2002 budget and adop <br />asked if there are any concerns relati <br />ns on the agenda for Monday night: <br />ify the proposed 2001 tax levy. The Coun can still hold a public hearing but the information will not be <br />known when the hearing is held. <br />Council Member Reinert stated he believes the City should have a public hearing at least <br />to give an explanation. <br />Mayor Bergeson asked if the public hearing could be held as part of the regular Council <br />meeting. Finance Director Rolek stated the hearing can be on the agenda as part of the <br />regular Council meeting. <br />Finance Director Rolek suggested the meeting be held on December 10, 2001. <br />Council directed staff to schedule a Truth in Taxation public hearing on Monday, <br />December 10, 2001, 6:00 p.m. <br />4 <br />
