CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION SEPTEMBER 5, 2001 <br />This item will appear on the regular Council agenda Monday, September 10, 2001, 6:30 <br />p.m. <br />COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE, MICHAEL GROCHALA <br />Community Development Director Grochala advised NAC has finished revising the <br />maps. The Plan will be submitted to the Metropolitan Council next week. Comments <br />have been received from the Metropolitan Council and those comments have been <br />incorporated into the Plan. The biggest issue is their question regarding new residential <br />development. <br />Mr. Brixius's response to their question was the figure was for a steady amount of growth <br />over the specified time period. He indicated the Council wanted to handle the Village <br />development separately. <br />Council Member Carlson stated the City would front end the ` _e b that <br />development is part of the 147 homes per year. <br />Council Member O'Donnell stated the 147 number wa e e an average over the <br />next 20 years. <br />it was the consensus of Council that the 147 <br />average. The Electrical <br />Inspector has not yet signed the contract and staff is working with the City Attorney to <br />resolve this issue. <br />Mayor Bergeson stated the Electrical Inspector indicated his issues include the insurance <br />requirement was non-standard and the fees. The fees have been collected at the new rate <br />and he has been asked to return the difference. <br />Chief Pecchia stated he has not been asked to refund the fees collected. The City has <br />been holding them until the City Attorney makes a recommendation. <br />5 <br />
